Activities to be implemented during autumn 2010/ spring 2011
An individual will be named in the Balkans to be responsibile for Internet activities and who will create and operate a project webpage containing information and documentation pertaining to the institutions’ work in the project. The University of Agder has begun working on a webpage with information regarding project activities. Furthermore, project managers in the western Balkans are working on an outline concerning how study trips and practice may be completed among the western Balkan institutions. A dialogue seminar is being planned for children’s home directors and political /professional authorities in these countries’ communities/regions to take place in Norway in May 2011. A three-year training program offering certification as a Marte Meo Practitioner is also under development, and will commence in spring 2011 for 20 staff members currently working in children’s homes involved in the project. As a result of talks with children’s homes in Split and Ljubljana, the idea of offering social worker practice in the institutions is under consideration. In April/May of 2011, preschool teaching students will complete their student teaching at the Bijela Children’s Home for a period of four weeks, and special education students will complete their student teaching at the Children’s Home in Belgrade. The Norwegian project managers will visit the children’s homes during spring 2011, conducting courses/advisement with various staff groups.
