About the Institution

Children's Village Sremska Kamenica was created in a large family of the world's children's villages on the fundamental principles of SOS-Kinderdorf International, dedicated to children who are not able to stay in the natural family environment.

Taking care of children and young people runs from 1975, when the village was opened.

The village represents the atmosphere by child's where we can, in the best way, meet needs marked by characteristics of child's personality, which emphasizes procedures that encourage the development of individual property interests and needs.
Working with children and young people takes place in several locations in Kamenica and Novi Sad, where the institution has 8 residential units aimed at young people who are in the process of becoming independent and at young people studying at the University of Novi Sad.
In the location of the Sremska Kamenica grows up 95 of children integrated in an open environment through education and health systems in order to use different contents of interesting cultural and recreational sports.
Plan for the future is directed towards clearly structured development that includes full care and individual approach to every child and young person, the development of alternative care programs and special alternative services that will contribute to painlessly transition of young to adulthood.
